Genjutsu for Sakuyuu.

Ouhou: Eimin (Royal Decree: Death)
Replacing:
Stage: 4
After a short series of handseals, the user raises his sword high into the air. Anyone who notices this gesture is ensnared in the genjutsu. The air seems to quaver for a moment, in what is suggested to be the user’s sheer power, and then abruptly quiets. From then on, anyone caught will see any attack launched at the user by another person end in futility and death, the details of which gory enough to make most genin queasy, and would no doubt discourage the afflicted from attacking for fear of the same result. Until the duration ends, the ‘Dead’ are invisible to the target(s), and no noise made by them will be heard. Any damage done to the user by anyone apart from the afflicted is masked, though the attacks they make themselves play out as they really do.

Ouhou: Mukui (Royal Decree: Retribution)
Replacing:

Stage: 5
Shortly following an array of seals, the user speaks the words “I call you to Judgment” by itself or as part of a larger phrase. The user must choose a single target for this jutsu. Immediately after they hear the words, the target feels wind pick up, ripping through any clothes covering their arms or legs. It does not leave, but instead grows sharper, cuts closer. The skin along their limbs is peeled off by the wind like the skin of an apple. While there is only one target, anyone who hears the phrase is caught in that they see the target going through this. It is arranged so that by the time the duration runs out, the target will have ‘lost’ all the skin up to their hips, and up to the shoulders.

Default Sakuyuu's Wind Swaps

Shinpuu: Urakaku (Divine Wind: Pierce)
Replacing:
Stage: 5
After a short series of seals the user points with their middle and index finger. A drill of rushing wind that can be up to fifteen meters long—thin as pencil lead, strong as steel and spinning with all the force of a small cyclone—rushes outward from the tip of that finger, turning with such speed that one can trace its path from the slight distortion of air it leaves, stirring up mild gales of wind as it nears. The drill exists for one post, during which the user may move their hand to slice or cut with it, making the technique far more deadly in the process. The wind can easily pierce from one side of a small wood or adobe house to the other, burrow up to a foot through solid stone or cut an inch into reinforced steel before losing its power. This has a three post cool-down.

Shinpuu: Menzen (Divine Wind: Presence)
Replacing:
Requirements: Opponent’s Permission or Death Enabled
Stage: 6
Menzen creates a self-sustaining sphere of highly pressurized air around the user, to which only the user is immune. This sphere seems to be a painful irritant and little more, causing ears to pop, bones to ach, and joints to grate to those within its area of effect. However, the true danger of the technique comes after the enemy’s body grows used to the high-pressure environment and ceases to feel these symptoms. Once canceled, the sudden rush of low pressure will cause decompression sickness almost instantaneously in the afflicted as bubbles of air form in their blood, blocking blood vessels and damaging vital tissues inside the body. Death and paralysis are common in the victims of this technique. The sphere has a radius of five meters, lasts for six posts and it takes three posts of constant exposure for a body to adjust to the intense pressure, becoming vulnerable to the more sinister aspect of this technique. Naturally, the user can cancel the technique at any time he sees fit. May be used once per thread.

Ryuujin-Fu
Aiming for Two and Four

Sekka [Flash]
Requirements: Tenka
With skill and practice, the user can take advantage of the flames around their body to charge a step with enough energy that it causes a literal explosion beneath their feet, directed and controlled so that it will propel them up to two meters in an instant. It is not subtle by any means, and it cannot be used in quick succession, taking some time before one can fire it again. (Three posts)

Enshou [Spreading Fire]
Requirements: Tenka
By infusing their flame with a sort of chakra residue, the user can extend the life of his Ryuujin-Fu’s fires. Whenever his flames make contact with another solid object, unless the user wishes otherwise, they light on it and burn. Fueled by the chakra charged inside it, the flame burns for three extra posts on whatever surface touched by it. Wood or flesh or stone, it makes little difference, though it would barely scorch the stone in the end. The flames may only be put out by before their time by submerging the burning object in water or otherwise removing oxygen from the fire completely. The user can only emit these lasting flames for a short time (three posts) and must wait (two posts) before they can use it again.

Default Kaen's Custom Archetype

Let's see if we can't build a precedent for these, hm?

The Ace
Archetypes: Cavalier—Tactician
Special: A the beginning of a thread, the player picks one jutsu from the Ace’s arsenal. It may be used without hand seals once that thread.
Description: Whether the Ace finds trouble or trouble finds the Ace normally depends on who you ask, but one way or another they often find themselves in the thick of conflict. But they have a lot of practice in getting out, and they're smart about it. When things inevitably turn nasty they'll always have a trick up their sleeves to turn the tide.

Default Property Damage Swaps

Stone Jewels

Jewel Cords
Stage: 1
Veins of the user's jewel gather at the base of their neck, spinning together into up to three meter chords. Anything touched by them becomes covered in the user's influence as though they had touched it directly. By themselves these chords are useless; they hang uselessly without something to drive them to motion. They may be used as a substitute for ribbons.

Precision Fist

Savage Leap
Stage: 2
Through special measure and careful restraint the force behind Precision Fist can be used as method of propulsion rather than attack. The user gathers chakra into their feet and releases it all at one instant as they jump, allowing them to propel themselves through the air for up to twenty meters in a savage leap. Has a three post cooldown.

Stomp
Stage: 2
The user gathers chakra into their foot and drives it into the ground. The chakra spreads through the ground within two meters of the user before forcing itself up, cracking the ground and throwing all those within the radius momentarily into the air. Has a two post cooldown.

Shatter
Stage: 3
The user strikes a object with an open palm and sends a special pulse of chakra through it, creating multitudes of micro fractures through the object. Once this is done the object falls uselessly to pieces. This approach is notably useless against ninjutsu defenses and living targets, as they already have a current of chakra running through them that causes the pulse to dissipate harmlessly. Up to one cubic meter of matter can be demolished in this way.

Default Kaen Swaps

Masuyo Swaps
Denka Ishindenshin (Electric Sympathy)
List: Lightning
Stage: 4
Replacing:
Requirements:
Through special conditioning with her stolen Raiton scrolls, Masuyo has found a way to turn her mind into a living radio. She can open herself to radio waves, sort and listen through all the various channels and is aware of all times of radio communication around her, including radio stations and encrypted com channels. She can transmit through any radio channel at will, allowing for communication with anyone with a radio device. By actively burning through a jutsu usage she may choose to intercept a message instead.

Gorenraku No Keiyaku (Contract of Communion)
List: Global
Stage: 2
Replacing:
Requirements:
After researching summoning techniques Masuyo has invented a semi-contract that acts to make the distance between two persons meaningless for the purpose of communication. With an offering of blood, one can attempt to conjure one who she has contracted in the form of a spectral face, hovering where she completed the technique until they or she dismisses the technique. Those she contacts can see and hear through the spectral face as though it were their own, making a two-way conversation viable. The target can refuse her call with an intuitive effort of will and is no more distracted or disabled by the jutsu than they would be by having an ordinary conversation. In order to use this jutsu, Masuyo must collect the signature of the target and have it on her person. Without it the jutsu will not function.
Sakuyuu Swaps
Shinpuu: Gairo No Soragami (Divine Wind: Sky God’s Road)
List: Wind
Stage: 3
Replacing:
Requirements: Sealing Tags,
Sakuyuu invented this technique to show that no place is beyond to reach of the Tsuriau and the Twins. To begin, he places five seals at the points of a pentagon and sits in the exact center, exactly five yards from each tag. He begins with a long series of seals and meditation as lines of light slowly begin to draw from tag to tag. It takes about thirty minutes to complete, after which all persons and non-bolted down objects within the pentagon—including the user—vanish in a rush, becoming wind. They rise into the upper atmosphere and ride the currents there to any place the user has been before, so long as it is open to the sky. This jutsu can carry its charges across large countries in hours, reaching even the most obscure corners of the globe in a day at most. This technique can only be used in a place open to the sky and never in combat, even for escapes.

Default Earth/Fire Bending Specials

Toutetsu Yumi

Ryuujin-Fu

Yakeru (Flare) [Stage Three]
Requirements: Tenka
With a focus of power in a hand or foot, the user of Ryuujin-Fu can give their flames a solid quality and shoot it forward from their limbs as they make a strike, manifesting as a flare or stream of fire extending from their hand. This flare may continue for two meters without hitting anything dissipating into nothing. Should this strike a person or object, it will burn them with the strength of their active Ryuujin-fu flames and hit them with an impact drawn from the user's physical strength.

Rekka (Raging Fire) [Stage Two]
Requirements: Tenka
With a wide motion, usually a sweep of the feet, the the user sprays the flames of their Ryuujin-fu out from their limbs, burning everything within a foot of the ground in a meter of the sweep with the intensity of their Ryuujin-fu flames. Aside from the heat of the flames the technique has no force behind it, though in a competent user the heat itself can be enough.

Hajime Takara

Eight Triagram Stone-Fist

Suku (Furrow) [Stage Two]
Named after the sign of its presence, Suku is initiated by the user driving their foot into the ground, creating a furrow through stone, earth or dirt for up to two meters in a straight line before a burst of stone or earth thrusts up from the ground into the target, propelling them with the force of the user's kick.

Default Freedom of Form

Aiming for stage one with this one.

Freedom of Form
Stage:
One
Replacing:
While the Sanada’s Celestial Body allows for much manipulation, Ayaka sought a more lasting hold over her form. By operating with the parameters of human shape she can make physical changes that last indefinitely so long as they are still reflect an approximation of healthy human shape for their age. All it takes is a moment of focus to change shape. It does take extended focus, making its use as a method of rapidly changing the dynamics of a fight unreasonable.
Base: The Sanada may alter the color, length and texture of their hair and color of their eyes.
Stage 2: The Sanada may vary their body's appearance but not shape. Facial features not included.
Stage 3: The Sanada may vary their voice.
Stage 4: The Sanada may vary their body type.

Default Ayaka's Aspect Swaps

These are Sanada List swaps.

Aspect of the Raptor
Stage:
Three
Replacing:
Inspired by the light, predatory bodies of the airborne raptor, the Sanada hollows their own bones, making their bodies light and movement nigh effortless, which when combined with a shinobi’s agility allows the Sanada to climb and make fantastic leaps as though it were second nature and land gracefully after falls from incredible heights. However the same lightness of body renders the Sanada vulnerable to throws and shoving force and their now-hollow bones are rendered terribly brittle. This technique is activated once initially, maintains at no cost and must be used a second time to change the body back. They may not use any other Aspects while this is active.

Default Shintsuiho - The Wraith Curse

Shintsuiho
The Banished Dead

The banished dead—or as they are informally known, wraiths—are a kind of undead. If dead animated with Dead Soul are all body and no soul, the Wraiths are all soul and no body. They will never see what lies past death, snared by black magic and tied to the world. They are very rare and normally do not encounter one another at all. Wraiths are solitary monsters that vary greatly in power, from feeble wandering spirits with barely enough strength to retain corporeal shape to bastions of consuming darkness in a world of light.

They are regarded by most of the population as a myth, if they are remembered at all. Those very few that know better understand Wraiths to be an attracter for other unnatural creatures, making them an easy target for monster hunters. They wilt under the sun and reach their full glory only under the stars, wandering a world in which their souls have been forgotten.

Advantages
  • Needless Body - A wraith does not eat, sleep or breathe.
  • Ageless - Does not conventionally age.
  • Wraith’s Sight - Their vision is unimpeded by darkness and shadow.
  • Wraith Sorcery - Has access to levels and manifestations in this list.
Disadvantages
  • Changeless - Wraiths are dead. Their spirits do not accept change with the readiness of the living. They earn one less thread point during a rating than normal, to a minimum of one.
  • Wraith’s Blindness - In death, their eyes no longer function as they once did. They see in grayscale and their vision is blurry and indistinct, as though the world was made of wispy smoke.
  • Sun-Adverse - Coming into contact with sunlight will cause tiredness and bleed color from the wraith’s body, recovering only under night’s darkness.
  • Paper Thin Disguise - Strain and active essence use will cause them to bleed into wraith-form, especially when they use techniques from this list.
  • Undead - Healing techs do not affect Wraiths.
Other
  • Weird Magnet - The strange is attracted to the Wraith like iron to a lodestone. The dead will grow restless in their graves, werewolves will catch their smell on the wind and they will come. Where the wraith goes the unnatural nests.
  • Death Is A Gray Word - Things that the Wraith kills often do not remain dead. Sometimes they rise again as zombies, ghouls . . . or another sentient wraith. These undead are free creatures, with no bond of allegiance to the Wraith themselves and who often hold a grudge.
  • No Body, Only Spirit - Bloodlines or abilities rooted in modification to the physical body do not transfer over when one becomes a Wraith. They likewise cannot be learned or acquired.
  • One Sight - Techniques that enhance the user's sight do not work unless they are specifically designed around the Wraith's unique vision.
Wraith Form
While at rest, a Wraith’s nature is hidden from the world, but that does not change what they are. Wraiths are different from mortals at the base; while they can draw on techniques that they knew in life the source of their power is no longer ‘chi’ or ‘chakra’ but the same font of shadowy magic that makes their existence possible. When they draw on any power, their nature becomes clear for all to see.

The details of the wraith’s features fade from view, and suddenly the Wraith’s body becomes a contrast of stark grayscale, bereft of details . . . much as the Wraith’s own vision is. Their voice, if they speak, becomes distorted and otherworldly and their hair and clothes do not seem to be touched by gravity in quite the same way. No one who looks upon a wraith in their unmasked glory could mistake them for anything else. Even irritation or other emotion can cause the wraith’s true body to bleed through, at least in part, into reality.

A wraith’s body is comparable in durability to that of a normal human being. While it has no inner organs, when punctured or smashed their body will leak essence. Losing more than a third of their bodily essence for any reason will cause a wraith’s entire body to disperse, with no physical residue. A strike that would be physically lethal is also spiritually lethal; what would fatally wound heart or head can disperse a wraith just as loss of essence can.

Wounds that do not destroy the wraith slowly restore themselves over the course of nights to come, as long as the wraith remains rested. A wraith that is utterly destroyed eventually reforms in the underworld and passes through the doors of death again . . . After about a hundred years.
Beacon of Magic
A Wraith's existence is a kink in the design of the world; a dead soul not written into the books, forgotten and left to slip through the cracks. Whether they fashion themselves a new lord of darkness or wish to live peacefully doesn't matter; where they go the unnatural will follow. Death in particular loses its meaning when a Wraith is nearby. The dead may grow restless in their graves and spirits may escape to haunt the nearby populace. Other dark creatures that exist in the world may find themselves pulled toward the Wraith without knowing why, like drawn to like. Some Wraiths embrace this, creating little homelands haunted by the dead and stalked by the strange, but others wary of both monsters and monster hunters live nomadic lifestyles, traveling from place to place before their influence on the surroundings earns much notice.
Becoming A Wraith
To become a Wraith, you must first die. There were once a great variety of rituals and curses that would damn those subjected to it to become Wraiths, bound to particular places and particular duties until the end of time. But now most Wraiths are created by accident. Those who are slain by Wraiths often do not have their names written in the book of the dead in yomi and are granted no passage into the world beyond, whatever that entails. In time their spirit lingers in the transitory realm between the mortal world and the afterlife and eventually pushes through the door back into the world of the living, becoming a free Wraith.

They emerge near the most recent death, somewhere on the continent they were first slain, untested and with no expertise in the Wraith magic that their shell can now take advantage of. When a wraith is 'reborn' into its false life, their corporeal shell takes on the shape that their spirit believed theirs, as it is no longer constrained by the body. This can make a wraith seem older, younger or even radically reshape their bodies and can include clothes. Their shell is at least visually human when their wraith form is not exposed, though as the wraith grows older and their perception of themselves changes, they may adopt 'unnatural' or 'monstrous' traits even in their shell to better resemble their self-image.

Players whose characters die at the hands of a Wraith have a choice between dying permanently or becoming a wraith. If they choose the latter they must take Level 0 in this list and change their character type to 'Wraith.' If they cannot take another list they cannot become a Wraith. While they use shinobi rules it is more strenuous for essence to emulate chakra. Therefore ninjutsu use twice as many usages, though it can round down to one if only one usage is available. Active manifestations require usages. Level One uses stage one. Level Two uses stage four. Level Three uses stage six and Level Four uses stage seven.
Fuuja Houin
Fuuja Houin interacts with the banished dead in very particular ways. If used as part of an impromptu offensive it promptly cuts the Wraith from the use of any manifestations and blinds them. If a Wraith is bound and restrained or otherwise held within a circle of runes, one who knows Fuuja Houin can enact a ten-minute ritual which will drag the banished dead into the surface and trap them there until the seal is broken, nulling their supernatural influence on the world around them and nulling their 'weird magnet.' Regardless of the manner of its use Fuuja Houin is harmful to the Wraith and makes their curse worse, not better. The seal used on them exists not to lighten the burden of their existence but to protect the world around them.
Wraith Sorcery
Progression: Each level costs two jutsu, in the same manner that excess taijutsu styles do. Once a level is taken, the manifestations can be claimed in the same way special techniques are, one jutsu each.
Level Zero: Fledgling Shade
A wraith newly reborn into the world, the banished dead of this level are feeble and weak. They barely have enough substance to hold onto a physical form, nevermind exerting their will on the world around them. Their imprint on the world is barely worth discussing; their presence encourages minor poltergeists to manifests and can allow lingering spirits to be seen by the young, mentally unwell and cameras. At this level a Wraith is most likely to pass unnoticed for long periods of time, but they are their very weakest.

This level establishes only the most basic of functionality for the Wraith. Their vital essence—their 'body'— recovers very slowly, and only at night. Even small cuts must be wrapped carefully to keep essence from bleeding out, weakening the Wraith and risking revealing their nature. They must either rely on clothing made from the world around them or not walk about in the daylight at all.

This level is special, because one who has it does not need to purchase it. No manifestations are available for purchase at this stage whatsoever; a Wraith has enough trouble holding together without trying to exploit their nature in new ways.

Level I: Neophyte Spectre
Requirements: 5 Control, 3 Reserves,
A creature of the night slowly groping toward its limits, a Wraith who has reached this point has gained strength, but because they have gained strength their spiritual footprint on the world is more pronounced. Within the first few days that a Wraith arrives those around them begin to notice things in the reflections of mirrors or through a window that are not there. In a few weeks’ time transparent shades may appear in graveyards or in homes where there is frequent or recent death. If a Wraith is lucky, they will only attract nutcases out to prove the unnatural. If they aren’t, they will attract professionals who know what’s going on and intend to put an end to it.

When a cut is made on the Wraith’s vital essence it bleeds away in a black, oily smoke that could only be stopped by binding it. A Wraith may elect to close—not repair, but close—these wounds with a moment’s concentration, creating a new black and white shell over the wound. If color had already bled from the wound for any reason, whether because it had been touched by sunlight or had been the site of a previous mending, a Wraith cannot close the wound in this manner and must let it heal on its own, if they survive.

Manifestations:

Soul Sight
A Wraith’s eyes see the spiritual and not the real. With this, they have begun to perceive the souls of those around them. They are perceived as an image that rises above a person’s back whose general gestures and actions act as an indicator of their owner’s temperament. They can be any color, but change based on the mood those they are attached too. Any magical or otherwise significant item in the world, the Wraith sees as the living do, surrounded by an aura of light that gives hint—but no more than hint—to its nature. These are the also the only things the Wraith will ever see in color. Other wraiths, if encountered, are bone-white with no attached soul. These things are not affected by the regular blurriness of the wraith’s vision.

Discorporate
With practice, a wraith can learn to temporarily dismiss its corporeal shell without causing direct harm to its body, moving like smoke for very short distances before reforming. A Wraith can discorporate just before or just after they are attacked, vanishing so that the spirit passes them by without harm or effectively undoing the attack—for instance, a wraith sliced in half discorporating and reappearing in one piece. Using discorporate in this manner counts as Kawarimi.

Level II: Phantom
Requirements: 16 Control, 15 Reserves, 12 Power, 14 Willpower
What follows the Wraith is more than jump scares now. The odd dogs their steps so closely they scarcely need stay in one place for a day before people begin to see visions. But now the Wraith’s influence goes past simple images and scares, and begins to take on a physical aspect. The spectres that follow a Wraith begin to touch and interact with the living world as though they were part of it. Nearby dogs that die in the street begin to twitch to life and snap their jaws . . . Even though their body is bisected. A wraith would be wise to get into the habit of destroying the bodies of those they kill, because if they don’t then it will almost certainly rise as something. It is not a question of if a Wraith will interact with monster hunters now, but when.

If a living person is maimed, their hand removed, their foot smashed beyond repair, there are remedies for them. Metal appendages can be affixed to the limb with dexterity and strength matching or exceeding the original, new limbs can either be set in place or grown by magic in a way the natural healing process could never match. At this level, at night, a Wraith can regrow and shape their vital essence, allowing them to regrow lost limbs and body parts. At will and out of the sunlight, a Wraith can dissolve their body into a liquid like thick syrup, capable of climbing up surfaces and slipping through small holes and gaps, but vulnerable to outside attack and unable to make use of their various techniques.

Ethereal Jaunt
The Wraith has learned to use their ability to cross short distances in a semi-corporeal state. They turn completely or partially into smoke and shadow, using their presence in the world of the dead to momentarily ignore the rules that govern the living. They may 'dash' in this manner up to one meter in any direction at their speed, even through the open air, ignoring physical barriers. They cannot, however, phase through attacks unless they pair this technique with 'Discorporate.'

Spirit's Hearing
This technique requires the user have purchased 'Soul Sight.' The wraith, having learned to perceive the souls of the living, begins to learn to hear them as well. Where the body lies the spirit is honest; this ability gives the Wraith the ability to listen to what a person means as well as what they do not say. Even if a person schools their expression to silence, their spirit still says ‘shut your goddamn mouth,’ and as the petty socialite says ‘what a pretty dress’ their spirit snarls ‘hideous!’ Considering that this requires a tremendous and accurate insight into another character, it is expected that even light use of this ability on other PCs requires consistent communication with their players.

Level III: Dread Wraith
Requirements: 27 Control, 25 Reserves, 23 Power, 20 Willpower, 16 Intelligence
The dead that wake around the Wraith grow in strength, power and numbers. Pale-fleshed, hungry ghouls and pale-faced spectres with halting memories of their former lives rise in their place, with claws and cunning far surpassing the mindless creatures that followed in the Wraith's wake before. But it is not just the dead that awaken in the Wraith's spiritual presence; their powers bleed into the land around them, stirring sleeping ogres mistaken for hills for a hundred years and pixies that slept under the moss. A wraith who seeks solace from their own nature must be constantly on the move, for their very passing ignites the lights of will-o-wisps in swamps and strange dreams in the living. Wraiths of this level are strong or elusive or both, but not by any inherit power to their nature as wraiths; they have to be, or they would have long since been sealed away by some Saint paladin and carried away into some dark and secret place forever. Samurai and Miko, whose spiritual training renders their understanding of balance keen, can feel a wraith's strange aura wash over them from ten miles away, though they may not know what it means. If sunlight divides the Samurai or Miko from the wraith, the strange texture of the essence does not reach them at all.

The wraith now has vital essence that is strong and flexible enough to withstand fading further from the world of the living in which mortals live and into the invisible between-world that a wraith sees. So long as they make an active effort to do so a wraith's image flickers and fades to a pale, smokey shadow, all but invisible in shadow and still hard to distinguish from the background in light. While a wraith remains physically present there are few visual indicators of it except to supernaturally enhanced vision. This may not be used in sunlight, and if sunlight falls on a wraith in this brittle, transient form their body dissipates entirely and instantly. A Wraith cannot attack while maintaining this faded form, and is limited to the use of only Ethereal Jaunt and Dark Flight. They may cancel it at a thought.

Manifestations:

Dark Flight
Channeling their essence through their body, the wraith reminds the world that the dead don’t have to play by its rules as gravity’s pull is rendered something entirely optional. This grants the wraith free flight up to twenty meters in the air at their speed level for four posts, after which they must settle on the ground or refresh the technique. This ability fails in sunlight.

Possession
As creatures of mostly spirit, a Wraith can find many places to hide. One of which being inside the souls of the still living. Taking advantage of a captive, willing or helpless living target, the Wraith dissipates and forces themselves inside, where they either lie dormant and watchful or wear the flesh and bones of the possessed like a human skinsuit while the possessed person watches from behind their own eyes. Possessing a body protects the Wraith from the adverse effects of sunlight but does not cure their abnormal vision and does not stop them from being a beacon to the unnatural. Any violence done to the possessed body likewise harms the Wraith, and if the possessed body dies while the Wraith is inside their vital essence dissipates. While wearing living skin a Wraith may not use active Wraith magic. They may eject themselves from the body at any time. Some targets can resist having their movements entirely hijacked by a Wraith. Techniques that can repel or seal unnatural creatures can drive a Wraith involuntarily from possession.
OOC: In the unlikely event a RPC is possessed, a player can at any time decide that a Wraith cannot control their possessed RPC's body. It should be treated as a roleplay technique rather than a combat one.

Level IV: Reaper Prince
Requirements: 40 Control, 30 Power, 29 Reserves, 24 Willpower, 20 Intelligence
At the peak of their power, a Wraith's strength rings through the land around them like a clear bell, pure and terrifying in its strangeness. The landscape around them changes more quickly and completely; in a place that the Wraith stays for any length of time the sense of what is ‘normal’ quickly changes. If they reside near any human settlements, their sway may gradually change those whose blood or spirit lends itself to the unnatural—an angry alcoholic may wake up one day from a hangover to find horns growing from his head and prick his tongue on sharpened teeth. A girl who feeds the neighborhood cats daily may hear their thoughts as though spoken with clear voices. Even shinobi, whose inner coils have been built for the express purpose of war, can feel the influence of the wraith's essence from ten miles away, while Miko and Samurai can hear the echoes from up to fifty miles. Daylight disperses free-floating essence and dampens this sense unless they are in a place with no sunlight between them and the wraith, such as in the same building.

Manifestations:

Shadowlands
In order to use this technique, the wraith must first pick out a suitable location, normally somewhere remote and carefully concealed. At night they then cut the surface of their vital essence and let it bleed onto the ground. With an effort of will they force the essence to move in a spiral as it hits the ground, more as they continue to bleed, eventually swelling into a great spiral of darkness twenty feet wide, after which the wraith must rest. Darkness fountains upward from the spiral like a whirlpool in reverse, covering the stars, only stopping after they reach ten miles in every direction. Within that distance the land is locked in an eternal night. Creatures of the night are comforted and strengthened here, including wraiths, and the landscape twists to conform to the nature of what it has become. The living and the natural have difficulty acknowledging the existence of the Shadowlands; from the outside it looks perfectly normal and supernatural examination from without will betray neither the Wraith's presence or the other creatures of the night it shelters. Only when one crosses the threshold does one see the blackened sky, twisted landscape and otherworldly denizens. Living blood dropped into the whirlpool slowly reverses the process. A living person, hale and healthy, thrown into the whirlpool collapses the Shadowlands utterly and immediately and kills the person.

Deny Death
One of the banished dead cannot touch the elements of life as they are not in any way part of it. However, they CAN touch death. In a reversal or their powers a wraith can forbid death's presence and restore to life any person who perished less than thirty minutes prior, regardless of the current condition of their body. This does NOT heal their wounds and does NOT dull their pain. Their body, unable to die from the wounds, will attempt to heal on its own. However, if a body is missing irreplaceable parts, such as a heart or everything below the neck, it will be unable to do so and a medic must be found who can insert or create replacements. This may only be used on a target who has well and truly died, and on revival they can do very little except speak, if they retain the parts necessary to do that. This condition reverses when they grow well again and if they suffer any other damage that would kill them they still die. If the death was caused by gates or a similar completely self-destructive technique, Deny Death can return the perished to life, but they fall into perpetual coma and there is nothing anyone can do to heal them.

Returning
Requirements:
All Manifestations, At Least One Established Shadowland
The Wraith, at the moment of their death, normally fades away into the realm of death and lingers there, trapped in the endless halls of the in-between for a century. Powerful Wraiths have discovered a way to expedite this process. At the heart of their Shadowlands is a swirling whirlpool that breaches the walls of this reality. By letting their power bleed through this gate, they leave a reserve of essence in the halls of the dead that they can immediately seize and use to breach the doors of death once more. The Shadowland collapses under the stress of their return as the Wraith climbs from the whirlpool, and the Wraith immediately regresses to Level II, losing all manifestations they are no longer eligible for, including Returning.
