Default Hyousetsu Clan Bloodline and Jutsu

Hyousetsu Bloodline and Jutsu
Description: A fearsome bloodline throughout the generations, the Hyousetsu Kekkei Genkai is one that utilizes the drop of surroundings to sub-zero temperatures and thus using formed ice and coldness to their benefit. It is an elusive, hard to master ability, and even though all clan members have it to some degree, only a handful is able to take it to its higher and deadlier potential. To put the bloodline's mechanic in simple, the Hyousetsu is able to use their chakra in order to lower surrounding temperature and also to control the formation and shape of ice.

Like many of Mist's, all Hyousetsu jutsu require a nearby source of water or ice. However, in junction with the Mizu Soujuu (Water Manipulation) technique, a Hyousetsu is able to overcome a setback such as this.

Each stage of the bloodline costs one Jutsu point. Also, unless specified differently, range, temperature and strength of the ice in any of the techniques is determined by the user's Bloodline level. Even if one uses a stage 4 technique, but has stage 5 of the bloodline, the ice used in the jutsu will be as strong as described in the 5th stage of the bloodline.

Stage Two - Genin
Requirements:Control 5, Power 4, Reserve 3

In this beginner stage the Hyousetsu can only create ice from a nearby source of water, or high moisture in the air (mist or recent rain). Extreme cold which is emitted from their hand is used to mold ice in any shape the user wishes it to be. The ability at this level to actually mold ice at will is highly limited.

Ice molding: Being novice in the field, Hyousetsu of this level are unable to mold ice in accurate detail, making whatever ice structure or instrument they make seem rough and unfinished, not to mention very brittle. Almost any physical attack of level 2 or higher and any fire ninjutsu of the same level can destroy the ice generated at this level. Also, the size of such ice formation is rather small, for a Hyousetsu of this level cannot gather as much freezing chakra- up to half a foot in height, width and length.

Range: At this level, the first of the bloodline's evolution forms, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of mere 4 feet.

Temperature: Stage one will only allow a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to 0 degrees Celsius. On clear, sunny days, many Hyousetsu Genin realize that unless continuing to create the cold effects of their bloodline, their efforts are soon deemed futile.

Cold resilience: At this stage the Hyousetsu is able to withstand temperatures of up to -10 Celsius for 5 posts without coming to physical harm.

Ninjutsu:

Name: Mizu Soujuu (Water Manipulation)
Requirements: Power 4, Control 4
Description: Any Mist Shinobi that uses ninjutsu should likely have this technique. This involves learning basic manipulation of the properties of water. Boiling, freezing, and pressurization of water are included in these studies. Freezing is mostly limited to small amounts of water, and boiling includes the creation of steam by further putting chakra into the water. The user cannot perform these tasks on larger bodies of water with this basic study alone.

Furthermore, by learning to draw water from the moisture in the air, the shinobi can use water techniques from Stage 1 without requiring a source of water nearby (unless stated otherwise).

Stage Two: Stage 1.
Stage Three: Stage 2 and lower.
Stage Four: Stage 3 and lower.
Stage Five: Stage 4 and lower.
Stage Six: Stage 5 and lower.
Stage Seven: Stage 6 and lower.
Stage Eight and Seven always requires a water source, even if the Mist-nin in question creates it first.

Demonic Reflecting Ice Body
Requirements: Tactics 5, Intelligence 4, Control 4
Description: Similar to the Water Puddle Technique. By altering their body shape, a Hyousetsu can meld into a sheet of ice and remain in that form for a number of posts equal to half his Stamina rating (round up.) This allows the user to hide and set up an ambush, or lose inexperienced trackers. The one difference between the techniques is that this one leaves a hazy reflection of the user within the ice.

Base Effect: 1 post
Stage 3: 3 posts
Stage 4: 5 posts

Hyou no Yaiba (Ice Sword)
Requirements: Control 4, Power 5, Tactics 3
Requirements: None
Description: Creates a sharp sword made of solid ice in the user’s hand. A Hyousetsu can freely decide what shape and size he/she wants the sword to have, from a tiny dagger to a massive decapitator sword, depending on their level of expertise.

Stage Two: Kunai are able to be formed.
Stage Three: Ice daggers, up to a foot in length, are able to be formed.
Stage Four: Short swords made of ice, up to three feet in length can be formed.
Stage Five: Katana and other broadswords, their length not exceeding 5 feet, can be formed at this level.

A Thousand Years of Frost
Requirements: Tactics 5, Intelligence 4, Willpower 5
Description: It is said that once upon a time, an old Hyousetsu Shinobi was visiting the Fire country when a group of armed bandits jumped on him, intending on stealing his money. Much to his surprise and relief, the old man was given help from a surprising source- a Leaf Chuunin who passed nearby and heard what had transpired. To the Hyousetsu's amazement, the Leaf-nin used a very peculiar move, one that is known by the name "one thousand years of pain". The Hyousetsu thanked the chuunin greatly for his help, and the two went their separate ways. A few days later, an idea came to the old man's mind, and that is how the Thousand Years of Frost was created.

Basically, user of this jutsu aims his hands in the same way as the original technique at his or her opponent's crotch, but also adding a sub zero effect to it.

Stage Three – Advanced Genin
Requirements: Control 8, Power 8, Reserves 6

Ice molding: One step ahead now, Hyousetsu at this point are able to mold ice from nearby water more accurately, as details begin to show in every formation. More refined and more defined, the ice a Hyousetsu is able to mold can now gain slight details (an ice sculpture of a bird would now show a relatively detailed shape, not simply a vague resemblance) to their creation. Ice is still rather soft and easy to break- Physical attack of level 3 and higher can break it, while fire Ninjutsu of level 3 and higher are able to easily melt it. Any ice formation created is still limited in size- only a foot in each parameter.

Range: At this level, the second of the bloodline's evolution forms, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 10 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -5 degrees Celsius. The sun has no more effect on the Hyousetsu's ability.

Cold resilience: At this stage the Hyousetsu is able to withstand temperatures of up to -25 Celsius for 10 posts without coming to any physical harm.

Ninjutsu:

Advanced Demonic Reflecting Ice Body
Requirements: Tactics 8, Intelligence 6, Willpower 8
Description: In this more advanced version of the Jutsu, the user is able to completely disappear inside the ice without leaving a reflection, allowing for a quick, sudden attack.

Koorisuber (Ice Skating)
Requirements: Control 9, Reserves 7, Power 9
Description: By coating their feet with cold chakra and slick ice the user of this jutsu is able to increase their speed dramatically. Speed is increased one level in the physical scale. This jutsu can last up to 4 posts regardless of the user's level. Also, after the technique is finished, the Hyousetsu will suffer from a hindrance of one Taijutsu level lower than their usual one for 2 posts.

Ice Element: Ice trap technique
Requirements: Tactics 9, Willpower 9, Control 8
Description: Slowly but surely, the user covers his entire surrounding in a very thin layer of ice. This lasts for one post. Afterwards, the Hyousetsu waits for their opponent to get near them, for once they do, small mounds of ice reach up from the thin layer where the opponent steps, making a hazard of tripping and falling. Even without the traps, this Jutsu is quite proficient against Taijutsu users, for the layer of ice is very slippery in itself and may cause an unsuspecting victim loss of balance.

Hyouton: Hyou Shuriken no Jutsu (Ice Element: Ice Shuriken Technique)
Requirements: Control 9, Power 9, Tactics 7
Description: Through the use of their bloodline, a Hyousetsu can create multiple small shuriken comprised of ice and launch them towards the target. It is important to note that these shuriken can only be physically launched.

Base Effect: Three shuriken can be launched.
Stage Four: Five shuriken can be launched.

Stage Four – Beginner Chuunin
Requirements: Control 12, Power 11, Tactics 10, Reserves 11

Ice molding: One more step ahead, a Hyousetsu at this point is able to mold ice at an even greater detail. Sculptures take up a more refined form, and the ice itself can be manipulated almost to the level of mere inches here and there. Moreover, the ice created is no longer as soft- Only physical attacks of level 4 and higher can break it, while fire Ninjutsu of level 4 and higher are able to melt it, but only after one post. Any ice formation created is still limited in size, but bigger- Ice formation of up to 4 feet in width, height and length can be made.

Range: At this level, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 20 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -10 degrees Celsius.

Cold resilience: There is no change at this stage to the cold resilience of a Hyousetsu.

Hyou Bunshin no Jutsu (Ice Clone Technique)
Requirements: Control 12, Tactics 10, Willpower 9, Reserves 12
Description: Creates one or multiple identical copies of the original user out of Ice. Similar to Mizu Bunshin, ice clones are capable of attacking, and possess a quarter of the user's physical abilities. These clones do not conform to the bloodline level resilience, and their ice would still possess the same strength even as the Hyousetsu reaches higher bloodline levels.

Base effect: 2 Clones
Stage Five: 3 clones
Stage Six: 4 clones

Hijutsu Sensatsu Suishou (Secret Technique, Flying Water Needles)
Requirements: Control 14, Power 13, Intelligence 12, Willpower 10
Description: This technique can only be used after a recent downfall of rain or under mist, for the user actually draws every bit of moisture of out of the air around him and his opponent and converts it into many small and very sharp needlesץ These needles are then directed at the enemy, and shoot out from every possible angle at a speed equal to the user's power. Upon impact the needles revert back to water and cannot be picked up and thrown again.

Base effect: 10 needles.
Stage 5: 15 needles
Stage 6: 25needles

Hyou no Yoroi (Shield of Ice)
Requirements: Tactics 13, Willpower 14, Control 12, Reserves 10
Description: A thin layer of protective Ice that covers a user's body. Since it makes the user cover him with hard to shatter ice, this jutsu causes the user's body to weigh more and stamina usage is increased. Very similar to the armor of sand (Suna no Yoroi). While using this jutsu the Hyousetsu experiences a lesser level in speed. This jutsu defends against physical attacks when the strength and speed of the attacker is equal to or less than twice the control of the user.

Hyouton: Hyou Fuuma Shuriken no jutsu (Ice Element: Ice Fuuma Shuriken)
Requirements: Control 12, Power 14, Reserves 14, Intelligence 12
Description: A more advanced form of the Ice shuriken jutsu, this one instead allows the user to create Fuuma shuriken made of ice. These shuriken are large, 3 feet in diameter, and the ice they are comprised off is especially sharp and deadly.

Base effect: 1 shuriken
Stage Five: 2 shuriken
Stage Six: 3 shuriken

Stage Five – Advanced Chuunin
Requirements: Control 17, Power 16, Reserves 16, Tactics 15

Ice molding: At this point Hyousetsu are able to mold ice at an even greater detail than ever before. Ice can now be refined to the microscopic level. Moreover, the ice created is no longer soft at all- only physical attacks of level 5 and higher can break it, and only Katon Jutsu of level 5 and higher are able to melt it, and even that after applying the fire for one post. Any ice formation created is limited in size, though not as much- 6 feet for each parameter.

Range: At this level, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 25 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -15 degrees Celsius.

Cold resilience: At this stage the Hyousetsu is able to withstand temperatures of up to -25 Celsius for a whole thread without coming to any physical harm.

Ninjutsu:

Toudai no Hyouyou (Lighthouse of Ice Mirrors)
Requirements: Control 18, Power 17, Reserves 17, Tactics 14
Description: Gathering a large amount of chakra into one hand, the user then proceeds by slamming their hand against the ground. Suddenly, a large maze of 6 feet ice mirrors grows up from the ground, all bearing the image of the user. The size of the maze depends on the user's level (decided by the range of the Hyousetsu's bloodline effect) Also, in this level the user is unable to move freely inside and out of the mirrors. The growing of the maze takes one post to complete. The maze is not roofed.

Kyokuteion (Extremely Low Temperature)
Requirements: Tactics 18, Intelligence 17, Willpower 17, Power 14
Description: Similar to the Kirigakure no jutsu, the Hyousetsu releases a blast of cold air that can quickly drop the temperature in any enclosed area in just one post. The temperature is depended upon the user's level. The cold can create physical shock and hypothermia, and might create long term damages for the opponent.

Hyougakure Shunshin no Jutsu (Hidden Ice Instantaneous Body Skill)
Requirements: Control 19, Power 19, Reserves 18, Tactics 14
Description: An ability which allows the user to transport from one area to another after entering a sheet of ice, much like the one in the Demonic Reflecting Ice Body technique. The user has to have been to the area before and the distance is limited to about one mile. This jutsu can only be used to escape combat, and may not be used in the same post if the shinobi has attacked or defended.

Hyouryu Heki (Ice Element Ice wall)
Requirements: Control 19, Power 18, Reserves 18, Willpower 15
Description: A defensive Jutsu in which the user creates a 10 foot high and 3 foot thick wall made of ice to defend against an attack. The wall's strength depends on the user's bloodline level, however, because of the great amount of effort used to create such a structure, the ice it is made of is weaker and more vulnerable. The wall can withstand physical and ninjutsu attacks one level lower than the Hyousetsu's bloodline level (for example, a Hyousetsu with Stage Six bloodline will create a wall that can withstand only level 5 and lower katons).

Stage Six – Beginner Jounin
Requirements: Control 21, Power 20, Reserves 19, Tactics 15, Intelligence 17

Ice molding: Not much progress has been made in the field of ice molding at this level, the only difference is the ice formation's durability and size. Physical attacks and fire Ninjutsu of the 6th level and higher are effective against said ice (with katons needing a post to melt it). Also, ice formations can reach the size of 8 feet in height, width and length.

Range: At this level, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 30 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -20 degrees Celsius for a whole thread without coming to any physical harm.

Cold resilience: No progress has been made in this area.

Ninjutsu:

Hyouton Shinjuu Zanshu no Jutsu (Ice Element Inner Decapitation Skill)
Requirements: Tactics 21, Intelligence 20, Willpower 19, Control 17, Power 15
Description: This technique can be used whenever an opponent has any portion of their body fully submerged in water. When, for example, an enemy walks into a relatively deep puddle (one which covers his entire foot in water), the Hyousetsu can use his bloodline ability, as long as it's in the appropriate range, to freeze the puddle, trapping the opponent within the ice.

One Handed Sealing
Requirements: Tactics 23, Intelligence 22, Willpower 20, Power 16, Control 17
Description: A long lost and ancient technique, this ability is one for which the Hyousetsu are most renown. By concentrating chakra to the hands as a way of compensation, the user is able to perform any Hyousetsu Jutsu of level four and lower with seals made only with one hand. This leaves the other hand free for any number of uses.

Limited to only twice per thread.

Hijutsu Tsurara no Mori (Secret Technique: Forest of Icicles)
Requirements: Control 21, Power 20, Reserves 18, Tactics 17, Intelligence 17
Description: Similar to the Kaguya's 5th dance, the Sawarabi no Mai, this jutsu lets the Hyousetsu grow a forest of 5 feet high icicles in a 10 feet radius around him. The icicles may be able to stop the charging of an enemy (although not from the air) and could easily harm a person they grow under. The icicles are razor sharp, needless to say.

Hyouton: Hyou no Doomu (Ice Element: Ice Dome)
Requirements:
Control 23, Power 20, Reserves 22, Tactics 17, Intelligence 15
Description: An elaboration of Hyouryu Heki (Ice Element Ice wall), this jutsu retains its predecessor's characteristics and more. Instead of forming a single, straight wall which can protect the user from only one angle, this jutsu enables the user to create a wall not just all around him, but from above him as well. If the technique is successful, the user should be inside a thick dome of ice. The disadvantages are obvious- The user cannot see outside the dome, and an opponent would have time to prepare an attack the they won't be aware of. Furthermore, holding the dome together requires a great deal of chakra, and the jutsu can only be active for four posts. The dome's strength depends on the Hyousetsu's bloodline level.

Ice Element: Ice Blades Technique
Requirements: Tactics 22, Intelligence 20, Willpower 19, Control 16, Power 17
Description: A highly advanced Ninjutsu which aids a Hyousetsu in his Taijutsu abilities, this one allows the user to grow 4 feet blades of ice and attach them to the user's forearms with chakra, granting them more range and deadliness to the attack. Needless to say, the blades are razor sharp and made of hardened ice (as per to the Hyousetsu's bloodline level)

Stage Seven – Advanced Jounin
Requirements: Power 30, Control 27, Reserves 26, Intelligence 22, Tactics 20

Ice molding: Last of the known stages of ice molding evolution a Hyousetsu is able to reach; this stage is an ultimate in the abilities it provides. Any ice formed by the user cannot be broken nor melt down by any physical attack or katon under the 7th level (not to mention a fire burning for at least two posts to be able to melt the ice), formations are only limited to the size of 15 feet, however such great structures require one post to create. The accuracy and detail which the ice is now made of are flawless and perfect. Should a Hyousetsu wish to create a smooth surface of ice, only the most highly advanced machinery could find dents or flaws in such a formation.

Range: At this level, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 35 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -30 degrees Celsius.

Cold resilience: At this stage the Hyousetsu is able to withstand temperatures of up to -30 Celsius for a whole thread without coming to any physical harm.

Ninjutsu:

Hyouton: Hyouryuudan no Jutsu (Ice Element: Ice Dragon Blast Technique)
Requirements:
Power 32, Control 30, Reserves 28, Intelligence 24, Tactics 22
Description: A powerful attack that creates a huge wave of ice in the shape of a dragon, which is then sent towards the opponent. Essentially a devastating single target attack, few are the shinobi who can suffer a hit from this technique and continue to fight. The user can control the dragon's movements until it hits something with an attack. Also, any parts of the opponent's body which comein direct contact with the dragon suffer of frostbites instantaneously. After reaching the Eighth bloodline level, the Hyousetsu is able to create two dragons at once.

Hyourou no Jutsu (Ice Prison Technique)
Requirements:
Intelligence 30, Tactics 27, Willpower 26, Power 22, Control 20
Description: A move used to trap the victim inside a prison comprised of ice; much like the water prison technique of Mist, it is very difficult to escape. The only downside to this technique is that the user must keep one hand against the prison at all times in order for the victim to remain imprisoned. It has no inherent duration; the technique can be held indefinitely as long as the user keeps a hand in place, and the prison cannot be escaped or broken from the inside. The small dome is made of ice, and so one sees from within only a hazy reflection of their surroundings.

Hyouton: Hyou Tsunami no Jutsu (Ice Element: Ice Tsunami Technique)
Requirements: Power 30, Control 33, Reserves 27, Intelligence 24, Tactics 23
Description: An ultimate technique in many ways, this one requires one post to complete. After making the necessary hand seals, the user slams their hands to the ground and in front of him starts to raise a great wave, as high as 15 feet, of ice. This tsunami of the colds cannot be controlled, and once shot at an opponent will move at a speed equal to the user's Power and will decimate upon its target upon impact. Any body part making contact with the tsunami of anyone but Hyousetsu will suffer from frostbites immediately.

Touketsu Chiyu no Kyuu (Coffin of Cold Healing)
Requirements: Intelligence 32, Tactics 30, Willpower 28, Power 24, Control 22
Description: Not quite considered even a defensive technique, this jutsu instead is more of a healing type of ability. When a Hyousetsu suffers from fatal injuries, it is possible for another Hyousetsu to create a coffin of ice to encase his injured clansman in, and by doing so sustaining his life for a few hours longer. The ice coffin slows down a patient's life signs to a bare minimum; however it does not do anything to heal him. The coffin is a massive block of ice, but can be lifted and transported to a hospital. It takes three posts to form it, and cannot be used in the middle of battle.

Stage Eight – Sennin Level
Requirements: Power 38, Control 35, Reserves 32, Intelligence 28, Tactics 25, Clan GM approval

Ice molding: Unknown to many even inside the clan, the Hyousetsu bloodline can reach another level, one step further up. This stage provides powerful abilities to the bloodline, and although many of those still remain unexplored, some are known to those few who hold the clan's secret. In this stage, any ice formed by the user cannot be broken nor melt down by any physical attack or katon under the 8th level (not to mention a fire burning for at least two posts to be able to melt the ice), formations are no longer limited in size and the accuracy and detail which they are made is flawless and perfect.

Range: At this level, a Hyousetsu is only able to control surrounding temperatures to a radius of 45 feet.

Temperature: This stage allows a Hyousetsu to lower their surrounding temperature to -40 degrees Celsius.

Cold resilience: At this stage the Hyousetsu is able to withstand temperatures of up to -40 Celsius for 10 posts, and -35 Celsius for a whole thread without coming to any physical harm.

Ninjutsu:

Hijutsu Makyou Hyoushou (Secret Technique: Demonic Ice Mirrors)
Requirements: Power 36, Control 35, Reserves 34, Intelligence 28, Tactics 25, Willpower 24
Description: A secret technique of the Hyousetsu, and the only one in the level of the bloodline, this one surrounds an opponent in a dome of mirrors composed of ice. The mirrors are not composed of normal ice, and are resistant to most fire based attacks. The user is capable of entering the mirrors and transporting between them by using their reflections. All the mirrors display a reflection of the user making it nearly impossible to determine which mirror the user is in or the source of an attack. This technique consumes a considerable amount of chakra, so it is only possible to be used for 5 posts.Speed of the user's movement between the mirrors is equal to his Control + Power

Hyou Bunshin no Jutsu: Firstly, I think the number of Bunshin should now conform to the new scaling rules. I don't like how it's resilence increases as time goes by, this is effectively a super-bunshin, and has physical resistance far surpassing the user. If your Shinobi had a Advanced Shinobi stage, this nice little stage three bunshin could only be destroyed by a stage seven techique.

Also, at the moment the Sennin stage can be taken by normal Shinobi, should they get high enough stats. That's a problem, as it would give them yet another a leg up against all other Shinobi. At the very least, make it possible for a normal shinobi to break them; Stage eight Jutsu are rather hard to come by.

Edit: The scaling for Hyou Bunshin is still an issue. Not only did the 'Every Five Reserves' was chosen for a common clone with 1/10ths of the users stats, but even then our system for Bunshin's have changed. For example, the stage three clone in Offensive Doton has a system like so:

Hyou Bunshin: Agreed, changed it.

About the 7th level, it's not open for regular shinobi at all. It's called "Sennin level" for a reason, since only Sennin can reach it.

Also, for anyone who some knowledge in Japanese, some of the jutsu in this list lack a proper translation, so it would be very kind of you to help me on the matter ^^

Edit: Changed the bunshin scales

If I remember correctly stage 8 is designated at sennin and stage 7 is the highest level jounin techniques. Such as Chidori and Rasengan fall into that level of power.

From what I remember stage seven requires at least 3 jutsus before the tree can be moved.

But otherwise I have no real problems with this. I miss External Homeostasis but the again that version of the bloodline had a problem staying cold.

As stage seven is a sennin stage in this (White basically left stage one out, after all) I'll have to say that it doesn't matter.

Half-Approved for all it's worth.

Whoa. Half'd. Definitely attempting another shot at a Mist Chuunin.

BTW shadowofgrief: Hijutsu: Makyou Hyoushou had to be balanced, along with the rest of the techniques in this list. Same with a lot of lists. You can't compare them to the show in terms of relativity.

There's a new version of Mizu Soujuu in the Mist Ninjutsu. You should change this version to that one.

Demonic Reflecting Ice Body needs proper scaling.

Hyou no Yaiba can't go up to Stage 5.

Hyou Shuriken no Jutsu needs proper scaling.

I'll go over the rest later.
