Default Imato Tsuneo - Snow Senshi

IMATO TSUNEO
Discord in Symphony - Snow Jounin Senshi

Name: Imato Tsuneo (Tsuuki)
Age: 30
Height: 2.15 m
Gender: Male
Type: Shinobi
Country: Snow / Sound
Rank: Special Jounin

Looks: Dead eyes, stoic face, sharp features. Birdlike. Light beige skin. Viridian hair, spiked up, esoterically messy, small teeth, high cheekbones. Taller than the majority, muscular frame, carries an air of seriousness, rarely smiles. Angled eyebrows over narrowed eyes, thin lips, usually chapped, pointed jaw. Chirping voice, unexpectedly high, Long fingers and large feet, small nails, short torso and small waist. Attractive to some, bland to others. Blends in, how he likes it. Aquiline nose, thin, long. Two stab wound scars on right side. Thousands of tiny scars over every inch of his body. Huge scars on forearms. Giant scar on back.

Clothing: Tsuneo usually wears an odd self constructed uniform he has been wearing as long as he remembers. The green outfit compliments the green hair. Leather and metal embossed breastplates cover the forest tunic of pressed leather, sutured with industrial strength threads reinforced four times. The jerkin covers him, meeting separate arm sleeves that taper down to green, brown, and gold gauntlets. His tunic ends at mid-thigh, spreading out in several smaller pointed tails like a sparse fan. He wear dark and weathered leather leggings that meet at his knee high brown combat boots which take far too long to tie for his liking.

Personality: He isn't nearly as glum and brooding as he looks, though he's certainly not the happiest. He's on the more serious side and doesn't see frivolity having a place in everyday life. This doesn't stop him from trying to make the occasional joke to the horror of everyone around him. He is a modest, decent guy with no qualms about killing, but understands that it's a "wrong" thing to do. His morals are highly contrasted and very distinct, they unfortunately shift which can lead people to think he's contradictory or argumentative. He simply becomes aware of issues and changes his stance, retroactively adjusting his past decisions. This is somewhat at terms with his behavior of routine. He does what he does and that's that. A creature of habit and a diligent note taker. He keeps track of every mission down the last detail. He's survived in the wild lands of Snow for so long because of his diligence in avoiding conflict if possible and a short stint living a simple life as a Samurai. But we'll get to that.

Biography:
MIDORICHI:
Snow Shinobi were funny people. I can tell you that much. If you never had the habit of meeting somebody from the Frozen City, let me explain: they are all either far too warm for such a cold place, or perfectly frigid for their namesake's land. For me, I was the former. I pumped warm blood and hot air. That's why I liked Tsuuki so much. He had a fiery passion and blazing wit in conversation. You know, when he showed it. Pretty reserved guy, if were being honest. Snow couldn't handle his heat and that was fine, because quite a few of us were like that. Not everyone was a cold ice queen or winter bitch. Then again, Tsuuki might be out of touch because last he checked the Nine Tails had just been sealed away and the Hyuuga clan over in Leaf was starting to gain real notoriety.

See, he woke up very confused and very, very cold. When Tsuu was in his mid twenties, he was a run of the mill Snow chuunin. He didn't have exceptional skills but he tried. The green haired loser had some modest success in getting beat up and being able to stand but no real ninjutsu talent to speak of. The only thing memorable about him was his illness, a chakra based poisoning that seemed to progress expeditiously the more he activated his inner coils. So the Snow council (who I thought were the council) set up a chamber and sealed Tsuuki in. It was weird getting a Yukisen summons in the middle of the night, but I went to the underground chamber dressed in my medical robes, ready for whatever. I wasn't ready to find myself with six or so other medical jounin, all dressed in robes to hide their faces. And when Tsuuki appeared, stupid, chuunin, average, sick Tsuuki, I was confused. This ceremony, whatever we were doing... why were we doing it for a twenty-eight year old chuunin?

TSUUKI:
Ice coated my body and I remember thinking, "I thought the council had more members. Also, I thought they were taller." And then the hood slipped off my former genin teammates head. He pulled the hood up in embarrassment and I tried to ask him why he was present at my Hijutsu ice sealing ceremony but as I opened my mouth, ice slid down my throat. I mean, I guess thanks for freezing me because you couldn't save me? It would only be a month or two before I thawed out, or so the Yukisen told me. This was for science. To see if it stopped my disease.

In a blink of an eye, the ice cracked around me and chipped away. The ice in my throat melted, and my eyes, frozen in place and completely unseeing fought through the black to a whit haze and finally, to a semblance of sight. In front of me stood a small old woman, gently resting her head on the back of a chair. A groan escaped my throat, a sound that surprised me since it sounded harsher than I remembered, even though it had only felt like I slept for an hour or two. I checked my hands, they were the same, complete with the same scars and cuts I had before the ice. The elderly woman jumped up at the sound of me emerging from my sleep and she hobbled over as quickly as her tiny legs would carry her. With a peering look, she looked me over once, twice, and again for good measure. She mumbled that everything seemed like it was in place, which I took to be a great thing, until I realized I was wearing only a tight fitting sling around my waist. If it was embarrassing during the ceremony, it was mortifying in front of a wizened old lady.

"You're awake! You ain't supposed to awake for not no seven more hours, ya' reckon! You done gone already did the thing and dang golly woke up, I swear it. We do got dash doodly need all the whip-snap young shinobi yous and we's may got for use. Defend our land and all that there, I say it true."

UNKNOWN:
And then a boom and a giant rock flew through the air. The lady stood there missing her head, body perfectly still for a few seconds and then crumpling over like a rose in a fire. Which was fitting because her name meant Rose and she was now on fire. In fact, the entire room was licked in flames, thundering eruptions trumpeting like stampedes, shaking debris from the cavern's roof. Confused would be a lowball estimate to describe the ineptitude Tsuneo felt. He stumbled over the last lip of ice and grabbed a folded robe, throwing it over his chilled back. Slipping arms through the holes, he vaulted over the body and kept running, through the cavern's only door.

Only a straight shot and two turns would be needed to get out and-- why was the door gone? He turned the other way, assuming he forgot the way, but where a door should have been, there was a steep staircase descending deeper into the cave. He took the stairs, confusion turning to worry. He didn't remember there being steep stairs here. And he wanted to reach the surface, not descend, but he kept going, fear and the threat of pain motivating him. A plume of flame reached out, slapping his skin, but it only left a slight pink mark, the pain forgotten in the rush and chaos. Within minutes he was confidently and absolutely lost. The walls were covered in marks that weren't there, all around him there were reinforcements of steel, and the paths were now lit by new, brighter lights. Everything looked new and shinier. He reached a tunnel wall he recognized and prayed for the small wooden door that signified the opening to the cart tracks, but the door was embossed and ornate. Assuming in the past day or two he was out they happened to renovate, he entered the door and where tracks to push loaded carts were sat burning husks of giant metal boxes attached to each other. Trains. An underground train system? They had been talking about this, but it wouldn't happen for years.

How long was I out, he asked himself.

And why was the city is flames? Stumbling along, he found purchase in a wall and begun to climb, scrambling up away from rolling rocks and pockets of fire. The cracks in the caverns ceiling allowed broken light to filter through the dust clouds, which he followed like a golden ladder up and up. He broke the surface, a blue skinned stalk emerging after a terrible storm and scraped through, rolling onto his side and up onto his feet. Wearing but a robe he snagged, he began the arduous trek across the snow covered hills, but the landslide brought him down.

He slipped on the snow and mud and burnt wood, slickly falling down the hillside toward a valley below. Flames burst around him, breaking the ground with staccato blasts of yellow and orange.

It took him four days with no food and only snow to sustain him before he found a group of men and women wandering where snow met dry land. He approached cautiously, begging sanctuary. They feared Tsuuki to be a Shinobi and demanded he be on his way but Tsuneo just sat where he was and begged silently. He was a Shinobi, he told them, but he couldn't use his chakra. It was poisoned. He was poisoned.

At first the group recoiled in horror, assuming him to be contagious or evil. Tsuneo offered to follow behind them at a distance, only asking they not attack him, and perhaps let him have their scraps of food. Within days he had managed to gain their confidence by living a simple life of weakness and humility. They watched him constantly, making sure he wouldn't attack them, but still let him tag along, sometimes even engaging the stranger in conversation.

Quote:
"You know, we won't be able to take you into the city. You might not be a ninja, but you're tainted" the man said, laughing. "You're no samurai. Listen, when we get there, just stay silent and hold your sword. Don't mention anything, we'll do the talking. I really don't know why I'm helping you, but something about you makes me feel like I should. I just got a sense. So don't screw me over."

*Note: Tsuuki had, without his knowing, utilized an emotion grifting genjutsu.
Tsuneo entered the City of Kings with a borrowed sword strapped to his back, feeling exceptionally queasy. For a few months he lived every day waking up, pretending to be a samurai who lost his memory while he was really a ninja who lost his memory. And each time a problem arose, he somehow just had people feel like they shouldn't worry. So they didn't. It was one day when he woke up and grabbed his sword from under his pillow like he always did that he heard chatter. Someone was speaking of the destruction of Snow. Someone was saying that there were Leaf Shinobi nearby, and at least one of them claimed at least some responsibility. Desperate for answers, Tsuneo and his new friend Riko ran as fast as their slow legs could take them. Tsuu was on the slower side of ninja.

Within a day, he was in front of the leaf Shinobi, with two more behind him, and one flanking him. He was surrounded.

Quote:
"I'm just here to talk.i just want to know what happened to Snow."

"Are you a snow ninja?" The leaf Shinobi asked. His face portrayed his incredulous and frustrated expression. "You and your friend made a bad mistake messing with us. We're going to defend ourselves."
Long story short, two Leaf ninja died by having their heads literally punched off. The rest of them attacked Tsuneo and Riko for as long and hard as they could but nothing seemed to damage Tsuneo. Riko had hid, waiting for the battle to end. Calling him a monster, the Leaf nin fled on food.

Rumor has it those Leaf ninja reported the monster with the poisoned chakra and somehow some very interested people in Grass found out. They're looking for the evil Snow nin.

Fearing Riko's judgement of his unsamurai-like ability to punch off heads, Tsuneo split from the City of Kings and ventured out to a distant land of rice. He had found himself in the land of Sound, where he had visited just once before. It was a proper city with houses and buildings, even if it was off in the distance. Finally, something made sense. When he had gone to sleep Snow didn't have trains, Grass wasn't remotely considered a village worthy of an alliance with Leaf of all things, Samurai didn't roam the land as audaciously as they today... But at least Sound still had a proper city.

And he had still yet to ask the simple question of what year it was. But that would come when Sound ninja intercepted him and sensed something wrong. They sensed the poisoned chakra, the very Sound like chakra poisoning. A dart landed in Tsuuki's neck, filling the already poisoned vessel with a lingering, sleeping poison that at first gently nudged him to sleep and then grabbed his mind and viciously twisted it upon itself until it fell away broken, calm, and asleep.

Quote:
"I'll gladly volunteer to test on him. He is a Crossroads projects, practically. I mean, there is no specific path jurisdiction--"

"False. Clearly we will take him. All things related to poisoning of the coils is what we do. And we want the best to handle this man."
TSUUKI:
I woke up like I had woken up before, in a haze of pain or white, seeing nothing, and then little. A man in a white lab coat and hunched body stared at me over a clipboard, taking gratuitous notes. When I moved my hands, they didnt move and I was worried. I had lost control of my body. When my vision returned a bit more I managed to look down, noticing the restraints on my limbs. I wasn't unable to move on my own volition, so that was something. They asked me questions, so many questions. Where did I first feel sick, where was I from, what my name was, what I had trained in, whether it was a bloodline...

Like I'm going to tell you, I had said.

You will, they just responded with cold eyes. Your voluntary participation is the only thing keeping you from being gutted open and having us poke your insides with little metal tools.

I had decided it would be a decent idea to speak up. They were kind of persuasive. But one question really bothered me. They had wondered why I didn't remember much of Snow desolation, so they asked what I did remember. I mentioned the Tailed Beasts, and they just nodded viciously like, of course you remember that, it just happened! Very confusing.

Yes, I mentioned, the Kyuubi's attacks were pretty detrimental to Konoha, or so I heard.

Konoha?

Color them interested. After another hour of questions, they let me in on a little secret... I had been asleep for two centuries. For two hundred plus years I had been left as a human Popsicle, forgotten about in the annals of time until the Yukisen needed to bring back his Shinobi to protect his land. It was nice they only partially forgot about me. After all, it's not like I was much use with a broken, infected chakra coil. But the Naga were interested, I was a special snowflake, full of Snow's secrets and filled to the brim with vicious, unfettered poison.

They removed it, or so they told me. I still felt sick, and to this day whenever I get involved with any chakra business I become nauseated and on fire, but that might just be because I'm used to it. I've been conditioned to associate pain with talent, so maybe there's nothing there except my mind. Te Naga, as they called themselves, were Sound's saviors and protectors and miracle workers, and as a true act of faith, they let me survive like a sad orphan pup, and all I have to do is report for medical testing whenever they demand, or they'll kill me.

But honestly, I don't really mind. Until I find out what happened to my land, I have nothing better to do than swear loyalty to a new land, as much as it pains me. Snow is no more and at least here I have scientists who gladly treat me for the poison. And when they tested my abilities, I was deemed better than a Hiyoutori, which I think means chuunin. I was considered a Jounin. A Senshi. Heh, Midorichi would be so mad I got promoted without having to do a damn thing.

Now, if I could only remember how I got the damn poison in the first place...

Points of Order: Tsuuki lives a complicated life. In the event someone needs to know his backstory without being burdened by the Heruclean task of sifting through his biography, this section is set up to be a quick summary of what he's done and where he's going.

--Tsuuki began his life as a humble chuunin in Snow over 200 years ago. While on a mission as a genin, Tsuu was poisoned by a Sound ninja. He does not remember the incident. Snow, having no way to save him, used their village ninjutsu skill to freeze him in ice until a time came he could be revived. He was left alone until Snow was attacked. When the Yukisen issued the orders to call back all snow Shinobi, Tsuneo was thawed out to help fight the fight. By the time Tsuu escaped the underground complex, Snow was demolished. He went to live with samurai for a short while, avoiding use of his ninja skills, for the most part. After an altercation with Leaf where he revealed his monstrous nature, he was annexed by Sound and tested. He now resides in Sound voluntarily and received treatment in return for living and acting the part of a normal Senshi.

Other Info: The Naga were very interested in how his chakra poisoning was administered, as it has been 200 years since he used his chakra and they have the patent for it. The Naga claimed the have fixed it, but they merely weakened the poison, meaning he has a timer on his life the more he uses his chakra. A rough estimate suggests he had 30 years left as a non shinobi, 20 years with minor chakra use, and 10 at most with moderate chakra use. Utilizing high amounts of chakra causes him pain, which is why he tolerates pain so well. Pain is normal to him.

That physical description isn't going to cut it. I'm all for short and sweet descriptions, and I'm not saying you need to fluff it up to reach the minimum word count, just tell me things about the character that other people can actually use. What does he sound like? What does his hair actually look like apart from being green? Color of his eyes? Does he make certain expressions? Does he give off certain impressions apart from just a vague seriousness? What is his hips/waist/thigh ratio? Is he curvy in the right places? How big are his breasts?

Finally, stuff like:
Quote:
Attractive to some, bland to others
is the equivalent of saying nothing. For the record, I hate the 'he/she's so pretty' physical descriptions because beauty isn't this intrinsic property you can slap onto a character, but 'he's pretty or ugly, lol i dunno' conveys zero information about the character.

The bio is...a real doozy. I assume you talked this over with the staff? I can't approve this until I know if this time-capsule stuff is ruled legit.

Fixed math. All around.

The one time I don't fluff to high heaven, haha. I want it as short as possible. Its fitting for him. that being said I added more, so now it's 101 words. He's vanilla with green hair. I don't want to go into exhausting detail about his looks because that's not going to make anyone RP with him better. Understanding his personality will.

And I understand apprehension about the time capsule nonsense. To defend my admittedly progressive biography and character idea, I'd like to direct you to the advanced chuunin section of Ice Ninjutsu.

Normally used by shinobi that are on the brink of death or wish for a great deal of time to pass, when the Yuki-nin uses Houyou Chinsei ice forms around them in a rough sphere, encasing them inside. Their heartbeat and bodily processes slow to a halt while the jutsu preserves their mind and the integrity of their body for a time they determine before making use of the jutsu. It is sometimes the only way to make certain that one will be able to survive to get medical attention or until help will arrive. The ice can be fractured by stage four and higher jutsu, ending the technique’s effects early.
As we can see this is literally a time capsule technique used to halt an illness in order to receive medical help and to let a great deal of time pass. I'm only using information found in Snow Info to flavor my characters past, so we can be confident this is purely so he can start over in Sound and learn as he goes.

EDIT: Merdle and Kibz both said grass and snow is fine, as long as I can show how it happened.

The physical description checks out now and it's not my business to tell you how to RP. Character sheets stop mattering after the first post in a thread anyway.

My hesitation wasn't because the concept couldn't be done (Sleepy had one that was similar), just that if it was allowed to be done. There's an awful lot of implicit power to be had with a character who can dictate history by virtue of being 200+ years old (even if he was asleep for almost all of it and doesn't remember much) and I just wanted to make sure that everyone who matters is on board with the concept. If all you're going to do is drop the occasional cameo reference I guess it's harmless enough.

Can you mention where you use your AP? Makes it easier for everyone when we don't have to hunt that stuff down (in addition to the fact we have AP limits on characters and it's hard to tell if you've hit them when you don't mention what you spent them on anywhere).

I'll Half once that's done.

Yeah, it would give me a ton of power but its power I'm not going to bother to use, tbh. Literally anything I would bring up comes from engi's history (the only history I know as I haven't watched naruto in 5+ years). I have no desire to retcon.

Added a note about why I have twenty jutsu instead of 18.

I have no problems with this. I may actually go so far as to say I think this is great, and very clever. Sound GM Half Approved.

Tales of the Abyss!

I've actually had my eye on this for awhile but wanted to make sure a Sound GM person was okay with the bio first. So I guess my Half will make this guy good to go.
